Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale is set to continue its dark storyline involving Dr Todd, with things getting worse for Jacob Sudgen. The workplace bullying plot has seen Todd target Jacob, making him question his abilities as a doctor.
But in recent episodes, viewers have seen Dr Todd move to the village and last week, she told Manpreet Sharma and Vanessa Woodfield that her student has an inappropriate crush on her.

Speaking about Dr Todd, actor Caroline Harker revealed that she didn’t know the direction her character would take when she first joined the soap for a guest role.
“I slightly sensed that – I mean, there was nothing, on paper, I didn’t know, but I slightly sensed that because they reacted to the character so well over in the hospital,” Harker said.
“But I honestly thought that she would be more of a maternal figure to Jacob. I had no idea that this was in the air.”
Harker added that Dr Todd has “a strength to her”, that the actor thought “was going to be used in a different way”, while sharing that she believes her character “feels quite blameless for everything”.
This week will see Jacob make a formal complaint about Todd to HR, and Harker has admitted she is excited over what is to come.

“I think it’s really quite testing,” she shared. “I mean, the scripts come through and they’re amazing, and you just think ‘oh right, okay, I didn’t expect this’. Yes, very good, it’s a very good challenge.”
As for whether Dr Todd is redeemable, Harker said: “I think if she had a lot of therapy or she was born again!
“Everyone’s redeemable, but it would take quite a big shift in her life to be redeemable.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
