Another Kanye West show has been cancelled; representatives from St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, have decided to slash West’s stop in the city on his upcoming world tour.

The proposed show was set to take place in the 40,000-capacity venue, which is also the home ground of the football club FC Basel.

However, representatives from the venue have shared with Reuters that West’s gig will not go ahead.

“FCB received an enquiry and considered it,” they explained, referencing the show that was meant to take place in June.

They continued, “However, after thorough review, we have decided not to proceed with the project, as we cannot, in accordance with our values, provide a platform ‌for the artist in question within this context.”

This isn’t the first or second time that this has happened to the ‘ Runaway’ musician. On April 17th, the managers of Slaski stadium in Chorzow, western Poland, announced that they had decided to pull the plug on the concert slated for June 19th.

Preceding this, Polish Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska said on April 16th of the concert, “We cannot pretend that this is just entertainment”.

The avalanche of cancellations began earlier this month, when the rapper was denied a UK visa, which led to the cancellation of his three-day headline appearance at London’s Wireless Festival. Subsequently, the entire festival was cancelled.

In the case of West’s upcoming show in Marseille at the Stade Velodrome on June 11th, which has also been scrapped, West released a statement insisting that he was the “sole” decision-maker.

Announcing that cancellation, he shared a statement which read in part, “I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends. I take full responsibility for what’s mine, but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it.”

At the time of writing, West is still set to launch his European tour, which will begin on May 23rd in New Delhi in support of his new album, Bully. However, it seems likely that more cancellations are on their way.
