McConville is replaced by Harry Darling, with Jakov Medic coming in on the bench, after the Northern Irishman was forced to cut short his warm up.
Philippe Clement had indicated on Monday there were a number of fresh fitness concerns in his squad, which were believed to be in attacking areas, but kept his cards close to his chest.
“We have a few issues, and I don’t want to speak about it now, because we need to assess still and make decisions on the day of the game. But there were a few issues after the Bristol match, so the puzzle is not complete yet, and I think I can make decisions only before the next game.”
Schwartau and Ahmed are missing from the matchday squad, with Clement set to provide a fuller update in his post-match media.
Liam Gibbs and Amankwah Forson get the nod in an attacking three with Paris Maghoma.
Ben Chrisene (shoulder) is expected to miss the rest of the season, although fit-again left-sided option Jeff Schlupp is back in the mix on the bench for the first time since November 5.
Lucien Mahovo is scheduled to step up his recovery from muscular issues later this week in training.
Both Papa Amadou Diallo (groin) and Jovon Makama (foot) are back on the grass running at the light training stage, but Clement indicated recently it would be touch and go if they are available before the end of the campaign.
Matej Jurasek would appear to be further behind that duo in his fitness recovery from a foot injury, with Clement revealing he has yet to return to outside rehab work.
Mirko Topic and Ante Crnac are ruled out for the season with ACL injuries. Topic is expected to be back for the start of pre-season.
Young midfielder Gabe Forsyth is also set for further assessment after a ‘setback’ on his long road back from an original knee injury suffered at Cardiff in November 2024. The Scot was pictured on crutches on derby weekend.
“He had a setback,” said Clement, last week. “With him, it’s already a long time story, so we’re looking with the best specialist in the UK and outside to find the right way with him to get him back in, to get him back fit.”
Manchester United loanee Harry Amass (hamstring) returned to his parent club to continue his rehabilitation, and will not return to Carrow Road this season.
