Now, ahead of their must-win game against John McGlynn’s team, Celtic’s captain has given his side a midfield boost, with the skipper declaring himself injury-free. “I’m all right now,” he said. “It was just over the last couple of games.
“It’s just been a wee issue to manage, but this week’s been much better. So all good, good to go. It’s settled well, actually. So, not quite as serious, but also, there wasn’t much training over the last couple of weeks, but managing to get available for the games and play the games, which is obviously the most important part of this stage of the season.
“So I’ve turned the wheel corner this week, feeling a lot better. So hopefully the next five games we’ll be able to fly through.”
It is set to be a busy weekend in the Scottish Premiership title race, though Celtic have the advantage of playing first over their two league rivals.
Should the current holders win against Falkirk, they will pile the pressure on Rangers, who take on Motherwell at Ibrox, as well as Hearts, who must negotiate an Edinburgh Derby against Hibernian immediately after.
Following the Falkirk game, Celtic will travel to Easter Road to face Hibs next weekend, before returning home against Rangers in the Glasgow Derby.
A midweek clash in Motherwell will follow, with the Premiership season ending with a match against Hearts at Celtic Park.
