Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb has hinted that her character, Moira Dingle, could set up a secret alliance to bring down Joe Tate.

Moira erupts into a rage next week when she finally discovers that Joe was responsible for kicking off her recent prison nightmare.

Robert Sugden exposes the truth, telling Moira that Joe blackmailed him into planting incriminating documents on her farm. This led the police to wrongly suspect that she was complicit in Celia Daniels’ human trafficking operation – and things only got worse from there when two bodies were found on her land.

Resorting to one of her favourite tactics, Moira heads to Home Farm clutching a shotgun as she’s determined to confront Joe.

Speaking about the dramatic scenes, Natalie explained: “Moira’s going round there to kill him! She has the shotgun, so she makes him sit down and orders him to confess. He’s trying to play dumb, but she knows it’s down to him. She’s so angry. In her mind, she’s going there to get rid of him, and she nearly does.

“Then more people get involved. Obviously she doesn’t kill him! But she swears to him that it’ll be her priority to make his life a living hell. Or a non-living one…”

Graham Foster interrupts the dangerous showdown, which could give Joe a lifeline for now.

However, when Moira later speaks to Joe’s partner Dawn Fletcher, and they compare notes over his recent misdeeds, it seems she could be playing the long game…

“I think Joe’s going to be under her radar, it might just be quietly,” Natalie added. “He might try to talk her round, but we don’t know how that’s going to pan out with the writing and which route they’re going to go.

“But when I was filming the scenes, it was pretty certain that Moira was going to get Joe back in some way or another.

“And she does team up with people to get Joe to suffer in a similar way. That would be through Joe losing everything, so that he has no power. So we’ll see what happens…”

Could Joe have picked the wrong target this time?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
