Tickets for Wales’ first-ever home Nations Championship fixtures have gone on sale, with the Welsh Rugby Union offering fans the chance to give back to the grassroots game with every purchase.

The first edition of the new biennial 12-team tournament kicks off in July, pitting the best sides from the northern and southern hemisphere against each other. Wales join fellow Six Nations sides England, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy in representing the north, with the southern hemisphere represented by the Rugby Championship teams – Australia, Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand – as well as Fiji and Japan.

Steve Tandy’s side will travel to Argentina and South Africa during the first round of fixtures in the summer, having also played an ‘away’ game against Fiji at the Cardiff City Stadium.

However, they will then play hosts at the Principality Stadium for the visits of Japan, New Zealand and Australia in November, before a finals weekend in London.

Tickets for those Principality Stadium matches have now gone on general sale, with the WRU encouraging supporters to act quickly to snap them up.

For the visit of Japan on November 7, standard tickets start at £26 with prices rising to £66 for A+ seats. For under-18s, tickets start at £13.50, rising to £23.50 while dedicated student tickets are either £22 to £25.50.

Unsurprisingly, the All Blacks clash a week later is the most expensive of the three fixtures, with standard tickets starting at £68 and rising to £128. In terms of concessions, under-18 tickets range from £35.50 to £55.50 and student tickets are priced between £55.50 and £62.50.

Standard tickets for the final fixture against Australia on November 21 start at £38 and rise to £78, with under-18 tickets priced between £20.50 and £30.50. Students, meanwhile, can pick up tickets for either £31 or £34.50.

For the first time, the WRU has offered supporters the chance to select a Welsh rugby club of their choice to receive a £2 contribution from every ticket purchased, in a “direct investment into Welsh rugby from the ground up”.

“We are incredibly excited about the inaugural Nations Championship and the opportunity it brings to reinforce the connection between our national team and the grassroots game,” said the WRU’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Gavin Marshall.

“For the first time, supporters can directly give back to their local clubs and reward their roots just by securing their seats for what promises to be a memorable autumn.”
