A teenager was taken to hospital after he was assaulted near a bus stop in Chesterfield.
The attack took place in broad daylight while the victim, a 19-year-old man, was walking along New Beetwell Street at around 5pm on Friday, April 24.
Derbyshire Constabulary say he was attacked by two men at the bottom of the Chesterfield Library steps near a bus stop, suffering injuries to his face.
The victim was taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A CCTV image of two men officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident has now been released.
One of the suspects was wearing a black cap with white writing on it, a black coat, blue jeans and dark coloured shoes.
The other suspect was wearing an all grey tracksuit with the joggers having an area of darker colour in the middle. He appeared to have brown hair that is in a bowl cut style.
In a statement released on Saturday, April 25, Derbyshire Constabulary also said they’re asking two key witnesses – a man and a woman who were in a red car parked close to the location of the assault – to contact them.
The statement read: “We appreciate the pictures are not the clearest but we are hoping someone may recognise [the two men] and come forward to tell us who they are.
“There were a lot of members of the public around at the time of the incident and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
“Officers would also like to hear from motorists who were driving down New Beetwell Street around the time of the incident and may have dash cam footage.”
