The series has wrapped production and the Toronto-based sets have been demolished, but Captain Pike’s crew still has plenty of adventure ahead — Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns this summer!
Series stars Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Paul Wesley took the stage at Mexico City’s CCXP convention today to announced that the fourth season will premiere Thursday, July 23 on Paramount+, and the gang brought with them new teaser images and the newest look ahead to 2026’s new episodes.
The one-minute teaser is filled with glimpses of the upcoming ten-episode Season 4 outing — including Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) climbing the hull of the Enterprise near a massive black hole, a planet inhabited by creatures which look a lot like Earth dinosaurs, a ringed planet exploding with blue energy, La’an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong) surrounded by seemingly-dead members of the crew, Kirk (Paul Wesley) both hugging Spock (Ethan Peck) and crying out in agony, Scotty (Martin Quinn) rocked by danger in the ship’s Jefferies tube, and much more.
In addition, several new photos from the season’s first and second episodes were unveiled, including an undercover landing party where equine aficionado Captain Pike (Anson Mount) leads Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) and La’an on a cowboy adventure across an alien desert.
Here are all the new photos from Season 4, along with four photos released at New York Comic Con in October.
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – 401: ‘Valles Marineris’
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – 402: ‘Griffin Incident’
This isn’t the first bit of footage from Season 4 we’ve seen however; back in October Paramount+ released a four-minute clip from the season premiere…
…and of course, last summer at San Diego Comic Con the streamer lifted the lid on Strange New Worlds‘ “biggest swing” yet: an episode where the crew is transformed into Muppet-style puppets, brought to life with the help of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
The official Star Trek: Strange New Worlds logline for Season 4 reads:
In season four of the Paramount+ Original Series, the crew of the USS Enterprise – led by Captain Christopher Pike – embark on a series of thrilling and emotional adventures across the stars. As they journey to strange new worlds, they will battle inner demons and external threats, encounter colorful new characters, reunite with familiar faces and confront terrifying aliens. Through it all, they strive to embrace a bright, hopeful future.
The series returns to Paramount+ globally on Thursday July 23 — that’s the first night of San Diego Comic Con, by the way — and runs ten weeks through Thursday, September 24.
The entire cast returns, including Anson Mount (Captain Pike), Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin-Riley), Ethan Peck (Spock), Melissa Navia (Erica Ortegas), Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura), Babs Olusanmokun (Dr. M’Benga), Jess Bush (Christine Chapel), Christina Chong (La’an Noonien-Singh), Martin Quinn (Scotty), and guest stars Carol Kane (Pelia) and Paul Wesley (James T. Kirk).
