Britpop legends Dodgy will say ‘Hello Beautiful’ to Grimsby when they launch their new album in the town next month. Docks Academy will host the band, famous for Good Enough and Staying Out For Summer in the 1990s.

The performance in Grimsby will be the start of a spring tour that will take the band across the UK. Dodgy, renowned for their warm melodic and uplifting music, made the announcement following the success of new singles It’s Not The End and Hello Beautiful, which delivered the band’s first Top 40 chart appearance in over a decade.

Adding to the band’s new buzz, Dodgy are now being managed by Alan McGee and Toura Toura. The album Hello Beautiful will be released on Friday, May 1. The album’s nine tracks encapsulate those unique harmonies and addictive feet-tapping riffs that made Dodgy the great summer festival band from the Britpop era of the Nineties. With the new album comes an older, reflective, deeper quality that is typical from such leading veterans of the British indie scene.

In advance of the Grimsby gig, Singer Nigel Clark said: “We approached each track as its own individual, with honesty at the core while still shaping an overall message, all united together by our trademark backing vocals and harmonies. Our time in the studio reflects a renewed energy and a deeper sense of pathos – this is a wiser, more evolved Dodgy in 2026.

“Making the album has been a passionate and rewarding process, embracing a new level of technicality that keeps the music feeling fresh and dynamic.”

Drummer, Mathew Priest, added: “ Now feels like the perfect time to release Hello Beautiful, following what’s been an incredible couple of months for the band with recent shows and new singles.

We’re really looking forward to playing our new tracks to a Grimsby crowd.”

Dodgy will be playing in Grimsby on Friday, May 1 at Docks Academy. Hello Beautiful is the first track on the album which also includes The Likes of You And Me, It’s Not The End, Call It What You Want, Summer Forever, Looking Back, Beside Me, Out Of Time and Fall Into Me.
