The crash happened between two motorcycles at around 11.40am on Saturday April 25 between Ingleton and Hawes on the B6255 in Yorkshire.

Police say that a rider of a BMW motorcycle, a man in his 60s from an as yet unspecified area in Lancashire, died at the scene and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the B6255 between Ingleton and Hawes.

It happened at around 11.40am yesterday, Saturday 25 April 25, and involved two motorcycles travelling northbound from Chapel le Dale towards Hawes.

“The rider of a BMW motorcycle, a man in his 60s from Lancashire, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this very difficult time.

“The rider and passenger of a Honda motorcycle were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage that could assist our investigation.

The road was closed for some time to allow emergency services North Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Investigation Team to carry out work at the scene.

It was reopened at 9.30pm on Saturday.
