Here is a hot package heating up the market from two high-profile talents and an infamous crime stopper. Sources have confirmed to Deadline Taika Waititi is attached to direct a new Judge Dredd movie from a script by Drew Pearce. Insiders the package just went to market and no offers are out yet but given all the parties involved should certainly get some looks.

Chris Kingsley, Jason Kingsley and Ben Smith of Rebellion Developments, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, Jeremy Platt, Natalie Viscuso and Pearce are among the producers involved in the package.

Created by John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra, Dredd is a police officer stationed in the metropolis of Mega-City One, where officers are empowered to be judge, jury, and executioner. Hollywood has adapted the property multiple times including a film starring Sylvester Stallone as well as a recent version starring Karl Urban.

Details behind this project are unknown at this time other then it featuring some of more lighter comedic touches to the property that Waititi films are known for.
