In the coming weeks, Kilat will be gradually introduced to the park’s male clouded leopard, Nimbus, as part of a coordinated conservation breeding programme.
Kilat and Nimbus have been paired following a formal recommendation from the European Clouded Leopard Studbook.
A spokesman for Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kilat to Thrigby Hall.
“Her arrival is an important step in our ongoing commitment to conservation and the management of threatened species.
“The redevelopment of our enclosure ensures we can provide the highest standards of welfare, while also contributing meaningfully to international breeding programmes.”
Visitors to Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens will soon be able to see Kilat as she settles into her new surroundings.
The zoo also recently saw the addition of a female tiger.
