The money expert updated viewers on his upcoming ITV programme.
Making an appearance on Tuesday’s This Morning (May 5) to provide guidance to ITV viewers, presenter Ben Shephard asked Martin Lewis what he would be covering later on his solo show.
However, the 54-year-old revealed that there had been a minor change to ITV’s schedule, meaning his programme would broadcast at a different time than usual.
He replied: “It’s back earlier than normal, we’re on from 7pm until 8pm because it’s probably my most important show I do in a year.
“It’s my pensions special, everything you will ever want to know about private and workplace pensions, but were afraid to ask, including how to start your pension, where to get it, how much to save, consolidation and the new inheritance tax laws.”

“Crucially, when taking your pension, taking the money out, how do you avoid the massive tax traps that are there?
“So it’s an absolutely crucial programme for anybody saving for their pension, which is pretty much everyone. I’ll have a specialist panel with me to take questions.”
Martin told Ben and Cat Deeley that his show had already been flooded with thousands of questions, which were currently being sifted through to identify the most frequently asked and popular topics to address, reports the Mirror.
Despite offering advice to some of the This Morning viewers, Martin revealed he was experiencing difficulties with his mouth ahead of his hour-long special later that day.

Taking to X, he informed his followers: “Aaah, I’ve a painful ulcer on my tongue. I’ve had it a few days and hoped it’d be ok for broadcast, but I’ve just done This Morning and it was hard not to slur.
“At least I don’t have an hour-long live TV show today.. oh wait, I do, 7pm. Anti-inflammatory and numbing spray, here I come!”
Martin’s programme has been on air since 25 September 2012, before transitioning to a live format in 2020. It has garnered significant acclaim over the years and has picked up numerous accolades, including an NTA and a TV Choice Award.
This year, Martin will be honoured with the BAFTA Television Special Award in recognition of his extraordinary and lasting impact on British consumers and public life.

Reflecting on the momentous achievement, he said: “For many years, people assumed I was a financial adviser. I’m not. I never have been. I am, proudly, a broadcast journalist.
“That is why this level of recognition at BAFTA’s TV Awards feels so meaningful. If someone had told the young man retraining in 1997 for a postgrad in broadcast journalism that this would happen, his jaw would have dropped, he’d have smiled in disbelief, and asked: ‘What on earth for?’ And, truthfully, I still feel a bit like that today.”
