Prepare for some thrilling telly over the coming days, as this week’s line-up includes some gripping dramas for those chasing some adrenaline.
But that’s not all. Love is in the air for singletons as Netflix’s popular dating show Love Is Blind UK returns for a second season, and there’s a new horror/sci fi spectacle arriving to streaming too. So if you’re stuck for inspiration, look no further as we take you through what to watch over the next seven days (starting on Monday 11 August).

In Flight
In what’s been described as a “high stakes” thriller, Katherine Kelly stars as single mum and flight attendant Jo Conran – but her life is upended when she is coerced by a criminal gang. The synopsis adds: “No matter how far Jo finds herself from her old life, her mission remains the same, to keep her son alive.”
In Flight has been written and co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses), and the cast also features Stuart Martin (Miss Scarlet and The Duke), Ashley Thomas (Them) and Corinna Brown (Heartstopper).
In Flight debuts on 12 August on Channel 4 at 9pm.

Alien: Earth
Set in 2120, two years before Ridley Scott’s original 1979 Alien movie, a deep space research vessel known as the USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, unleashing horrific dangers on the planet.
The series stars Sydney Chandler as main character Wendy, and the rest of the cast includes Alex Lawther (The End of the F***ing World) and Timothy Olyphant (Havoc, Daisy Jones & The Six).
Alien Earth debuts on 12 August in the US and 13 August in the UK on Disney Plus.

Love Is Blind: UK, season 2
Love Is Blind: UK brings together a whole new batch of singletons hoping to find their soulmate.

In the Mud
This dark and gritty Argentinian drama series is about five female prisoners who forge a bond following a deadly accident. However bonds can bend and break, especially in this ruthless prison where corruption and turf wars threaten to tear them apart.
The series has been created, produced and co-written by Sebastián Ortega, and is a spinoff of the popular drama El marginal.
In the Mud debuts on 14 August on Netflix.

Amazon Prime
Butterfly
One for the spy thriller fans, Butterfly follows former US intelligence operative David Jung (Daniel Dae Kim) who is now living in South Korea.
The ex-operative finds himself in a dicey situation when the fallout from a past decision results in him being pursued by the deadly, sociopathic young agent Rebecca (Reina Hardesty) who has been tasked with killing him.
Prime Video describes Butterfly as “a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage”, and has been adapted from the BOOM! Studios graphic novel series created by Arash Amel.
Butterfly debuts on 13 August on Prime Video.
