Irish president Catherine Connolly stopped by the Chelsea Flower Show on the second day of a three-day trip to the UK. Connolly met with King Charles at Buckingham Palace on Monday. She will visit the London Irish Center in Camden later on Tuesday and Leeds University on Wednesday before completing her tour.

Lady Amelia Windsor was back for a second day, checking out British designer Penelope Chilvers’s installation “The Flower Room” with journalist and bestselling author Yomi Adegoke, whose works include The List and Slay in Your Lane.

Among one of the flowers being showcased this year is The King’s Rose, a new and unique English shrub named in honor of King Charles. The fuchsia and white striped flower took 12 years to create.

The King also greeted Zinc, a friendly cocker spaniel, while visiting the show on press day.

Queen Camilla, dressed more casually in a Fiona Clare jacket with a floral dress and carrying a Bottega Veneta “Casette” clutch, is seen touring the Parkinson’s UK “A Garden for Every Parkinson’s Journey” installation with designer Arit Anderson (right). The jewel-toned perennials and annuals were chosen for their qualities to uplift and energize, while the woodland elements reflect calmness.

The Queen, known to love a good brooch, wore one of her “bug brooches” from her personal collection. This one appeared to be the horsefly, which features a sapphire also set with diamond wings.

There was a small Bridgerton reunion at the show on Monday. Here Rosheuvel and Ruth Gemmell, who plays family matriarch Violet Bridgerton on the Netflix series, are seen with landscape designer Catherine MacDonald. Her third year at the Chelsea Flower Show, MacDonald was the mind behind the Boodles Garden, the site of Monday’s reception.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, appeared at the Boodles Garden on Monday. The installation draws inspiration from four historical sites in and around London: the layout of the Tower of London, the architectural elements of Hampton Court Palace, the decorative ceiling of the Picnic Room in Queen Charlotte’s Cottage at Kew Palace, and deep red tones from the wallpaper at Kensington Palace.
