A photo exhibition of portraits and landscapes has opened in one of the newly finished railway arches at the Bankside development near the Tate Modern.
The works are all by Andy Earl, who mixes wide-angle landscapes with more commercial celebrity photography, mainly of musicians. So you’ve got a mix of photos of streets and architecture interspersed with photos of Annie Lennox, Prince and REM.
The music photography dominates, and many may be familiar to fans of the artists in question, although for my mind the landscapes are more appealing.
Sitting the exhibition in the old railway arch also gives it a bit of added atmosphere, with the rumbling of trains overhead. It’s a small exhibition, but free to visit and can be found at on the corner of Blackfriars Road and Southwark Street – follow the signs for the Opus sales office.
The exhibition, Andy Earl X Bankside Yards, is open Wed to Sun from 12pm to 7pm until 8th August 2026 and is free to visit.
