Two British holidaymakers who tragically died after allegedly leaping into a swimming pool during their first evening in Portugal have been identified and photographed for the first time.
Mo, 27, and King, 29, were declared dead following their discovery at the bottom of a pool at an Albufeira resort. Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 4am on July 15, but attempts to revive the pair proved unsuccessful. Portuguese publication Correio da Manhã reported that the men had been consuming alcohol and were unable to swim, leading to their drowning.
A crowdfunding appeal has now been launched to assist with repatriating the bodies back to Britain.
The GoFundMe campaign, organised from Ipswich, explained: “On what was meant to be a joyful holiday in Portugal, our two dear friends Mo and King tragically lost their lives less than 24 hours after arriving. What was supposed to be sunshine and laughter turned into heartbreak no one could have imagined.
“Mo, 27, and King, 29, were more than friends to us. They were brothers to many. Gentle, kind-hearted souls who brought light into every room they entered. The kind of people who would drop everything to help you, no questions asked.

“They were warm, loyal, funny and full of dreams. The sort of men you never hear a bad word about because there simply were none.
“They were deeply devoted to their families, their friends and their faith. And now, all of that has been taken so suddenly and so unfairly.”
The family has been burdened with the “overwhelming cost” of repatriating their sons, with the expenses estimated at £10,000.
They shared that Mo and King were “loved more than words” and, as of the latest update, over £12,000 had been raised to support them.
Following the tragic event, authorities have stated there was no suspicion of foul play, marking another sorrowful case involving British holidaymakers in Albufeira recently.

Scottish native Greg Monks, a 38-year-old plant mechanic, disappeared on May 28 and later died after leaping over a wall and tumbling down a steep incline during a stag do. His body was recovered on June 4.
In a separate incident, just hours before Greg was found, another young Briton, aged 21, was discovered deceased behind a residential building near Albufeira’s Old Town, having fallen from a height.
The man, who remains unnamed, is believed to have lost his way after consuming alcohol with friends.
