“We’ve got huge strengths and some of the most untapped potential anywhere in the country,” Campbell said.
“Now it’s about backing our people, supporting our industries, and bringing in the investment we need to make that potential a reality.
“What matters most to me is that local people feel the benefit of all this. I want people to have the chance to build a good life for themselves and their families, right here in our region.”
The plan identifies areas for growth, including Freeport sites in Hull and Goole, regenerating Hull’s Western Docks and developing Bridlington Bay.
It also talks about supporting an “innovation corridor” along Ferensway in Hull city centre and increasing trade through the Humber ports.
Housing is also described as a key area, with sites for new homes identified in Hull, Cottingham. Driffield and Bridlington as well as Howden, which could see more than 1,860 properties built near Thorpe Hall.
The document adds that collaboration on investment would be carried out with councils and mayors on the south bank of the Humber Estuary.
