You may be thinking, how will the Sony show be relevant to me as an Xbox fan? Well, aside from the obvious third-party games being present at both events, we still have reason to believe that some of the PlayStation Studios stuff might be of interest to us too. Sure, it sounds like the strategy around single-player games is becoming more PS5-focused, but its live service projects such as Fairgames and any updates from Bungie and Arrowhead could be worth looking out for – to name a few.
Either way, recent summer showcase seasons haven’t always pitted Xbox and PlayStation events this close together, and we’re pretty darn excited for it to all go down next month. Now it’s just time for Nintendo to show up and announce a Direct for the next couple of weeks too, right? Ahh, we do like all of the excitement that surrounds this time of year in gaming.
Anyway, in terms of the big one for us here at PX – the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 takes place on Sunday, June 7th, featuring a Gears of War: E-Day Direct. You can catch up on some of our recent content on Microsoft’s summer showcase down below.
