A clothing shop has opened its first ever Kent store at the Ashford Designer Outlet – with another retailer due to open at the centre tomorrow.

Contemporary fashion outfit, The Label Yard, has flung open its doors at the McArthurGlen complex.

Becoming its sixth store in the UK and first in Kent, its feature several brands under one roof.

It has filled the unit next to Lyle and Scott, formerly occupied by Jack Wolfskin until its closure in April.

The outlet’s centre manager, Peter Heritage, told KentOnline: “It’s an exciting addition for us, bringing premium streetwear and a mix of fast-growing brands – a category proving to be popular across a number of our other McArthurGlen centres.

“The store offers a curated line-up of emerging labels, including Irasuto, a visionary Japanese streetwear brand; Pas de Monaco, known for its clean, modern aesthetic; Human-Race, a sustainability-led lifestyle brand; and Sedley, which focuses on high-quality, timeless clothing for the modern man.

“The opening is another positive step forward and reinforces the continued demand we’re seeing from up-and-coming brands looking to be part of the centre.”

Mr Heritage also confirmed The Gift Company is to open in the former Belstaff unit within the outlet’s extension tomorrow (Friday).

He added: “Established in 1995, this family-run retailer has grown to 24 stores nationwide and is known for its wide range of quality giftware, offering something for everyone.

“We have further exciting additions in the pipeline, including Diesel, which will be opening soon.

“We’ll also be welcoming back Dubafrique, whose African drumming performances have been a real highlight in previous years.”

Alongside Jack Wolfskin and Belstaff, the outlet waved goodbye to Puma Clearance, Hugo, and Russell & Bromley this year, with Pavers to depart the centre in October.

However, a mini golf course launched in the centre’s extension earlier this month in a move bosses say will “add a new dimension to the overall outlet experience”.

Part of a new ‘summer garden’, the facility features six holes and costs shoppers £3.50 to play.

Meanwhile, American fashion house, Coach, is to double in size when it opens in the former Calendar Club unit later this summer.
