It has been announced that former British champion Christie, from Currock, will be on the card at a big BKFC event in Naples this summer.
It will see the 41-year-old return to action on the top bare-knuckle platform a year since his previous fight, which was followed by his retirement from the BKFC.
The Cumbrian has since reversed that decision and will fight in a middleweight contest at BKFC 91 Naples on July 18.
Christie’s opponent in Italy has yet to be confirmed.
The Carlisle fighter has had eight previous fights in the BKFC after making a big impact following his debut in 2022.
His third fight saw Christie win the British light-heavyweight title when defeating Anthony Holmes in 2023.
Christie later moved to middleweight and earned a world title fight against David Mundell, which saw the American get the better of the Cumbrian.
He has five victories and three defeats to his name in the BKFC so far, his most recent contest being defeat to Connor Tierney in a British middleweight title fight in Birmingham last July.
Announcing his return, the BKFC said: “The road to a world title isn’t for everyone. Danny Christie has already been there. Now he’s bringing that experience to Naples.”
The card in Naples is currently headed by the cruiserweight contest between Lorenzo Hunt and Walter Pugliesi.
Christie is one of five Cumbrian fighters currently on the BKFC platform, along with Egremont heavyweight Agi Faulkner, Carlisle bantamweight Kieron Sewell, Maryport featherweight Bartek Kanabey and Carlisle heavyweight Kaseem Saleem.
