There are dozens of film franchises that this applies to, including the archaeological exploits of Indiana Jones.
However, watching it in a rather different way at Liverpool’s iconic Philharmonic Hall felt like watching it for the first time.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Live in Concert is currently midway through its UK tour over May and June.
What makes this screening different from watching on TV at home, or even on the big screen in the cinema, is the addition of a live orchestra.

Originally released in 1981 as a collaboration between George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark redefined the possibilities of adventure cinema.
It also launched actor Harrison Ford to legendary status.
For the few that may not have seen it, Indiana Jones is the classic hero in this adventure set in the 1930s, which follows the quick-witted and determined archaeologist as he hunts for the Lost Ark of the Covenant.
Often facing insurmountable odds, Indy always manages to succeed in the nick of time, joined by endearing companions and opposed by notorious villains.
The classic film has captured the spirits of movie-goers for generations, and it continues to inspire adventures yet to come.
Having not experienced a live orchestra accompaniment to a film before, I didn’t know what to expect.
Would I be overstimulated, not knowing whether to watch master musicians plying their trade or the masterpiece film on the big screen?
The answer was no, as the music and film go hand in hand.
It was also great to see the musicians, some of whom will also be huge fans of the franchise, enjoying themselves and playing the iconic theme tune with beaming smiles.
Most also had a keen eye on the film during parts of the film when they were not required to play their instruments, be they violins, cellos, harps, drums, or brass.
We would definitely recommend seeing one of your favourite films in this way, and we will certainly look to go along to another again.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Live in Concert came to Liverpool last night, Wednesday, having already stopped off at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall, and Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.
The tour continues tonight, Thursday, at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, before heading to Sheffield’s City Hall tomorrow night, Friday, and ending at London’s Eventim Apollo on Sunday.
