Fred Sirieix, the popular TV maître d’, best known for Channel 4’s First Dates, has sparked excitement across the Wirral after announcing his arrival in the borough and calling on residents for recommendations.
Known for his appearances on cooking and travel programmes, including his partnership with Gordan Ramsey and Gino D’Acampo, Sirieix is a beloved personality and a prominent advocate for the hospitality industry, founding National Waiters’ Day.
He took to social media to let fans know he had arrived in Wirral, posting on social media seeking “delicious local food”.
In the post, he said: “Bonjour. I have just arrived in the Wirral. Please send in your suggestions of what to do and where to eat delicious local food.”
The post has prompted a wave of responses from residents keen to showcase the area’s hospitality scene, from independent cafés and traditional pubs to coastal eateries and fine dining spots.
