With its first edition back in 2009, the tournament has grown leaps and bounds over the last 17 years. The show-stopping Captains’ Carnival, which will take in some of London’s most iconic backdrops, is a perfect launchpad for the biggest edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
The number of teams has expanded from 10 to 12, and a number of contenders will pose a strong challenge on the grand stage.
While Australia is the most successful team in the tournament’s history, it is New Zealand that will arrive as the defending champions, having defeated South Africa by 32 runs in the 2024 finals.
