Coronation Street fans think they have rumbled an upcoming twist for Betsy Swain as spoilers reveal that she’s planning an exit from Weatherfield next week.
Actress Sydney Martin is best known for playing the teenager in the ITV soap, having joined back in 2024. Fans will recall that the teenage character first appeared on-screen as Sabrina Adetiba’s mate, before it was revealed that her mum is DS Lisa Swain.
She’s been involved in a number of the soap’s biggest storylines over the last couple of years, and it was previously revealed that she’s set to be part of an upcoming storyline for Dylan Wilson, with whom Betsy has had a subtle on-screen romance.

Sydney has told Digital Spy that viewers can expect a mixture of emotions to unfold between the young couple. “Dylan and Betsy have been through a lot together,” she said. “There’s beautiful moments to come. They’re polar opposites; she’s this ticking time bomb that could go off at any time, and he’s quite grounded and sweet.
“That can create some quite funny scenes, because there’s that natural comedic element of them being so different, but also some beautiful ones. I’m also excited for Liam to get his chance to shine.” She later added: “I’ve been working hard, so I’m really excited for people to see it. It’s going to be a busy summer.”
Spoilers for next week’s Corrie have now given a mention as to what’s ahead for Betsy. In the Rovers, Sean Tully refuses to serve Brody Michaelis, his son Dylan Wilson and Betsy Swain, aware that Brody’s underage. Instead, the gang heads to the precinct, but when three rough lads approach and demand they hand over the cans they’ve bought, Brody orders Dylan and Betsy to scarper whilst he sprints in the opposite direction with the lads going after him.
Meanwhile, Betsy tells Lauren Bolton she’s been offered a place at the London College of Fashion, but she’s worried about leaving Dylan. How will he react to the news? Betsy also admits she’s yet to break the news to her mum, Lisa Connor-Swain. Eventually, Betsy tells Lisa and her wife Carla about the offer. Carla’s delighted for her, but will Lisa share her enthusiasm?

But Corrie fans are adamant that Betsy won’t end up leaving and that there is something else ahead. @messasaurusjess said: “Betsy decides to study in London, Carla and Lisa support her, but she ultimately doesn’t go because she gets pregnant, cue coming of age storyline.”
@TheConnorSwains commented: “Ngl, I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Something is gonna happen that stops Betsy going to London. I suspect it’s gonna have something to do with the gang of lads on the precinct. @SwainsCoat shared: “I’m genuinely concerned for this Betsy storyline now, I have a bad feeling it’s going to be a lot darker than a ‘teenage pregnancy’.” @LadyReignFC wrote: “It’s probably a disease, something criminal she got into, maybe Betsy was attacked, maybe someone else accidentally shoots her this time, idk but something like that. I still don’t see how Dylan is involved so that’s the only reason pregnancy is still on the table I guess.” @louise_trowse added: “Holy s**t!!! What’s going to happen to Betsy?
