After crashing out of the Tour de France, the Belgian sprinter is hoping to feel strong enough at the Tour of Denmark to head to the final Grand Tour of the year.

A month after he crashed and broke a collarbone and multiple ribs at the Tour de France, Jasper Philipsen is back to racing this week at the Tour of Denmark. The 27-year-old Belgian was not in the mix on the opening stage, but he did finish in a group only a little ways down, an encouraging sign in what is a trial run for the final Grand Tour of the season.
Philipsen spoke to Het Nieuwsblad about his plans for the remainder of his 2025 campaign – which has been derailed by health woes on and off since the start of the year – ahead of the Tour of Denmark.
“The rehabilitation went faster than the doctors and I expected,” Philipsen said. “In Herentals [the hospital where Philipsen was treated], they suggested staying off the bike for two weeks, and only returning to outdoor training after four weeks. Ultimately, after one week, I was back on the rollers for an hour a day, and after two weeks, I could train outdoors.”
