An air ambulance landed at the scene of a serious crash in Flintshire. The collision took place on the A541 between Rhydymwyn and Rhosesmor, with people urged to avoid the area.
A North Wales Police North Flintshire statement said: “Please be advised that the A541 between Rhydymwyn and Rhosesmor is closed following a road traffic collision.
“If possible, please avoid the area and use an alternative route – the emergency services are in attendance and we thank you for your patience.”
The road reopened at around 12.30pm. A later police statement said: “We were called at 8.30am this morning to report a collision on the A541 between Rhydymwyn and Rhosesmor.
“Emergency services attended which resulted in one person being taken to hospital. The road was reopened at around 12.30pm.”

Person taken to hospital after crash
North Wales Police have confirmed a person was taken to hospital following the crash this morning:
We were called at 8.30am this morning to report a collision on the A541 between Rhydymwyn and Rhosesmor. Emergency services attended which resulted in one person being taken to hospital. The road was reopened at around 12.30pm.

Rhydymwyn Service Station – which is situated near the crash site – says the A541 has now reopened.

A Wales Air Ambulance helicopter was at the scene earlier but later left and returned to the based in Welshpool.

‘Serious accident’
Rhydymwyn Service Station, which is located near the scene of the crash, has issued an update to customers on its Facebook page.
The update says:
As most people are aware, there has sadly been another serious accident this morning, heading out of Rhydymwyn towards Rhosesmor.”We have just had an update from the Police that all the passengers are now out the vehicle, the vehicle is off the road, so once the rest of the investigation has been completed the road will be re-opened as soon as possible.”They hope the road will be back open again by lunchtime. We will update on stories when normality is fully restored. “Thank you very much! “
