Chairs, a bed, sofa cushions and more were abandoned by bins at the end of Compton Avenue – the latest mass-dumping to strike the Seven Dials in Brighton.
Residents said the items had been there since Sunday, June 7, and it had been reported to Brighton and Hove City Council.
A sign was taped to one of the bins by the mystery vigilante calling the incident a “disgrace” and calling for information on who is responsible.

It urged anyone with information to share it on the Seven Dials Community page on Facebook.
“Not having it,” the sign added.
One man who lives nearby said it was a regular issue: “Someone’s obviously emptied the contents of their flat.
“We get a lot of people dumping stuff at the end of the road.
“It should be disposed of properly. It’s not pleasant.
“People don’t take responsibility for their stuff.
“It seems to be a Brighton-wide problem.”

One couple, who reported the flytipping to the council, said the problem was worsened by passers-by leaving general waste in the recycling bin, limiting space.
“Generally it’s been really bad,” they said.
“It’s just constant. It seems to be a dumping ground.
“So many people are putting rubbish in the recycling and on the floor.
“Seagulls and foxes are opening it up. It’s a busy area walking past.
“It’s been a real mess.”

Brighton and Hove City Council has been contacted for comment.
Last month, a woman said flytipping in nearby Vernon Terrace was getting “out of hand”.
Lauren, 30, said: “Most days I am cleaning up the bins and calling the council.
“It’s such a problematic area. They’re dumping a whole range of stuff.

“I have had enough. It’s driving me mad.
“It’s out of hand. I am just so frustrated and angry.
“This is meant to be a nice area. It looks like a dumping ground for people. It’s vulgar.
“I’m not entirely blaming the council. The people are contributing to the mess and chaos.
“It’s the people of Brighton that need to be called out.”
A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council said: “We recognise that many people in our city do not have access to a vehicle, making it difficult for people to dispose of larger items.
“However, the council does offer a bulky waste collections service. We have recently slashed the price of these collections, precisely to make it easier and more affordable for people to dispose of their larger items responsibly.
“Leaving items next to communal bins is fly-tipping and not only risks prosecution, but can attract fines between £200 and £1,000
“We have recently expanded our use of CCTV in relation to fly-tipping and we will be increasing our enforcement activity accordingly.”
