Super League in 2025 has yet again been unpredictable, with anyone capable of beating anyone and a top six playoff race set to go down to the wire. Teams who are to succeed need gamebreakers that can turn the game in their favour, and players were brought in ahead of 2025 that would bolster squads and could potentially be match winners when it came to the big games.

Here is a squad of the best signings of the 2025 season, the ones that have impressed the most and been vital to their team’s successes.

Full Back – Arthur Mourgue

Joining Hull KR from Catalans Dragons in March, Mourgue has been one of Super League’s best mid-season signings in 2025. He has six tries and seven assists during his 16 matches so far, and has made the full back position his own. His impressive goal kicking record is another key part of his game, slotting over 67 conversions from 81 attempts.

Wingers – Tom Davies and Ryan Hall

Davies’ move from the Dragons has paid off for both player and club, with the winger scoring 19 tries in all competitions, including the decisive try in the Robins’ Challenge Cup Final victory. He came to the Robins to replace the outgoing Ryan Hall, who has also impressed in his first season back in the blue and amber of Leeds Rhinos.

It is fair to say some questioned the re-signing of Hall, especially given it was announced during Rohan Smith’s time at the club. However the 37-year-old has proved everybody wrong and has shown he still has plenty to give this Rhinos side as we head towards the business end of the season.

Centres – Tesi Niu and Zak Hardaker

Leigh centre Niu has wowed fans with his impressive strength and speed, as he leads the league for tackle busts. Still only 24, Niu is one of many Leopards signings that could turn out to be a masterstroke the more he develops.

Hardaker has been one of the leading stars at the MKM Stadium this season, playing in a number of positions across John Cartwright’s side and excelling on a weekly basis.

Halves – Jake Connor and Aidan Sezer

Like Hall, Jake Connor’s move to Leeds brought more questions than answers, but he has been back to his best this season, and sat top of the Man of Steel ladder before the points were hidden from public view. The 30-year-old has registered 28 try contributions in 24 matches, and despite a recent loss of form is still one of Leeds’ most important and influential players.

Returning to Super League after a one-year stint at Wests Tigers in the NRL, Aidan Sezer’s move to Hull FC has been crucial to their rise up the table in 2025. Assisting 18 tries in the league so far, he has partnered Cade Cust for all bar five of the Black and Whites’ matches this season, they have built up a strong partnership and it is paying off for John Cartwright’s side.

The best forward signings of the 2025 Super League season:

Props – Joe Ofahengaue and Caius Faatili

Signing for Leigh mid-season from Parramatta Eels, Ofahengaue has been one of the form props since his debut in May. He has hit the ground running, scoring five tries in his first 11 matches, whilst also averaging 90m per game, 28 tackles and 14 carries.

When Faatili moved to Wakefield from the Queensland Cup in January, the majority of fans would have had to do some extensive digging to find out who he was. Now, Super League watchers know all about the Wakefield prop, as he continues to impress from the bench each week. Injuries in the Trinity pack has meant he has had to step up and take on extra work, and he has performed admirably in his maiden Super League season.

Hooker- Zac Woolford

Woolford, despite missing the early parts of the season through injury, has impressed the Giants’ so much he earned himself a new contract less than 10 matches into his Super League career. Huddersfield have had a poor 2025, but Woolford’s contributions visibly make a difference to Luke Robinson’s side, as he averages 46 tackles per game.

Second Rowers – Kallum Watkins and Ethan O’Neill

Watkins’ switch from Salford to Leeds has worked wonders for the Rhinos. Mainly operating at second row or loose forward, wherever the 34-year-old plays he has an impact on the game be that with ball in hand or in defence.

O’Neill had never made a first-grade appearance before signing for Leigh, but like Faatili has come to Super League as an unknown and impressed. Averaging just under 40 tackles per game, the 26-year-old is has also scored the fourth most tries for the Leopards in the league this year with six.

Loose Forward – Issac Liu

Liu was brought into the Leigh side to replace the outgoing John Asiata to Hull FC. He had big shoes to fill, but the 34-year-old former New Zealand international has brought a wealth of experience and leadership to the side. Adrian Lam doesn’t have an official captain for 2025, but Liu is part of the leadership group at the Leopards, which is working well for the side sitting third in the league.

Bench – Liam Knight, Keenan Palasia, John Asiata and Amir Borouh
