Love Island is a not a show that holds back from its viewers. The cast is filmed 24 hours a day, and episodes drop five days a week so you’re guaranteed to see the contestants make out pretty much every time. But in case you want even more, Peacock is bringing the lip smacking to the big screen. This year, viewers can watch the Casa Amor episode in 28 movie theaters around the country via Fandango at the same time the episode airs on the app: June 22 at 9 p.m. ET. It will mark the first time Peacock’s marquee reality property has been shown in theaters, though it’s in line with recent TV trends. Part one of Bravo’s Summer House reunion screened in theaters; so did the finale of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Not only does this allow companies to get a quick extra buck off their popular TV properties, but the communal event can make the shows feel even bigger than they already are.
Casa Amor, for those familiar, is the high midway point of Love Island. It marks the big event when couples are separated to stay at Casa Amor with brand-new bombshells to fall for. With Gabriel, you know it’ll get steamy. Then there’s Zach, who is constantly worried about being too attracted to a bombshell after having sex with Kayda; Sincere, who simply cannot be trusted; and Bryce, who is either committed to Trinity or Zach, depending on the edit. Maybe this means we’ll get the finale in Imax.
