Fans finally have the answer Hailee Steinfeld wouldn’t share during her AMA — and it came just days later.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Actress Hailee Steinfeld held an “Ask Me Anything” on Wednesday, and despite the anticipation, she didn’t reveal the name of her young daughter.
Two days later, however, fans now know: Harper Haize Allen.
“Even though I know I am meant to guide you through this life, Harper Haize Allen, the truth is that already, you have taught me far more than I could ever teach you,” Steinfeld wrote in her Beau society newsletter on Friday.
In May, following her first Mother’s Day, she posted pictures with of small glimpse of her and husband Josh Allen’s new baby. Allen is the Bills starting quarterback and an NFL MVP.
“Recently, naturally, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about motherhood,” she wrote on Friday. “Last week, one of you asked what my daughter has taught me, which made me think about how much I’ve changed in the very short time since she entered our world.
“Then more recently, someone asked if my daughter were to read Beau Society one day, what’s something I hope she learns about who I am at this point in my life. That had me thinking.”
Back on Dec. 12, Steinfeld and Allen announced to the world through her newsletter that they were expecting their first child, marking a new chapter in their lives. That newsletter was innocuous enough to start, reflecting on her 29th birthday and reflecting on how great her life has been.
She said “28 was wild, beautiful, humbling, and full of the kind of moments that sneak up and change you quietly.”
After that, Steinfeld made a list of things she appreciated. It was when you scroll to the bottom when you got the breaking news, through a 28-second video, that she was pregnant.
