Classes will be taught by trained boxing coaches and personal trainers Shane Williams, Michael Bates and Ethan Melhado.

Born and bred in Peckham, Shane says he has a “passion for a safer London” and has “lost one too many friends and family members to knife crime.”

Shane Williams

Williams, who has nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram, offered free workouts to Southwark residents during Covid and regularly posts motivation messages about fitness, health, and the importance of being a good role model.

He is also offering 10 hours per week of his own time to visit local schools and do a free after school boxing class. If you are a school and would be interested in Shane’s school sessions, email him on [email protected].

Shane said: “I cannot, and I will not, stand by and watch these young lives slip away. From this moment forward, I pledge to do everything in my power to give them a better future.

“Maybe I cant stop it alone, but if I can keep 50 people safe for an hour with me, it’s a start.”

There time for the classes just yet because Shane will look at running two sessions back to back if there is enough interest. It will most likely be after school.
