A strong finish from Lauren Walsh to her third round at the Meijer LPGA Classic kept her in the red for the tournament.
The Kildare golfer made the weekend by a single shot and started moving day very steadily, carding 11 pars before a bogey on the par-four 12th.
A further dropped shot at the par-three 15th saw her slip back to level par but Walsh finished strong with three straight birdies to card a one-under 71 – good enough for a tie for 46th on three under.
She is 11 shots behind leader Jing Yan at Blythefield Country Club in Michigan.
England’s Lottie Woad is one shot off the lead going into the final round as she seeks a third LPGA Tour title.
The 22-year-old shot a third-round 68 to reach 13 under and sit second behind American Yan.
Woad, a winner in Cincinnati last month, mixed six birdies with two bogeys in her third round.
Australia’s Cassie Porter lies third on 12 under.
