Fans have got to wait for their next fix of Corrie’s cobbles drama as the current disruption to the television schedule continues

Coronation Street fans looking for their fix of cobbles drama have got a wait on their hands as the current disruption to the television schedule continues.
As viewers know, it was back in January that Corrie became part of a ‘soap power hour’ alongside fellow ITV soap, Emmerdale, with half-hour episodes airing for each show every weeknight, which the network said at the time was because ‘viewing habits continue to change’.
The schedule change was launched in dramatic fashion as, in a history-making move, Corrie and Emmerdale joined forces for the first time, with residents from the cobbles and the Dales seen being caught up in a deadly multi-vehicle crash.

But more recently, Corrie fans have been treated to the previous hour-long episodes, as ongoing changes to how fans can get their fix of cobbles (and Dales) drama are due to coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicked off earlier this month across the pond.
This week, Corrie has only aired on Monday (June 22), Tuesday (June 23), both for half an hour at 9.30pm, and Thursday (June 25), for an hour from 9pm.
Those who want to find out what’s going on in Weatherfield now have to wait as there is no episode airing on Friday (June 26) night. It isn’t, however, very clear when our soaps will be back on-screen, as previous information released by Corrie suggested Monday (June 29), while the current TV guides suggest football coverage will take over next week.
This week, Corrie unveiled a killer twist as it was confirmed who killed Theo Silverton. As viewers know, the builder’s lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain’s, wedding to Carla Connor back in April.

It came after, in February, the abuser was confirmed among the possible five victims of a murder set to rock the cobbles following a flashforward episode of Corrie, with Theo put up for the chop alongside Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh and Maggie Driscoll. Eventually, a week after the wedding aired, and following a string of dramatic Corrie episodes, it was revealed that Theo was the one who had been murdered, bringing an end to his 13-month reign of both physical and mental abuse over his partner, Todd Grimshaw.
His death quickly triggered a murder investigation, and a ‘whodunnit’ has since been underway, with Corrie confirming Todd as a suspect, along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton.
The truth, however, was finally revealed during Monday’s (June 22) edition of Corrie, as it was confirmed that Sarah was the one to come face-to-face with Theo before striking a blow to his head that saw him tumbling off the scaffolding outside his and Todd’s flat, which is where he was later found by Betsy.
