The 66-year-old broke the news during the latest series of his hit Amazon show, filmed at Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton in West Oxfordshire.
In one emotional scene of season five, Mr Clarkson quietly told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland: “I’ve got cancer”.
The former Top Gear host explained that the disease had been caught early, but described the treatment as intense and, at times, difficult.
He went on to say that around “10 per cent” of his prostate was affected and that some of the treatment had “gone a bit awry”
Mr Clarkson has now confirmed that the sixth series of Clarkson’s Farm is being filmed and “in production” following his diagnosis.
Taking to Instagram via the official Prime Video account, the 66-year-old gave the major update on the immediate future of the popular show.
“So, bit of a year,” said Mr Clarkson, next to his Lamborghini tractor.
“But, I am delighted to tell you that Season 6 of Clarkson’s Farm is currently being filmed. It’s in production.
“And that’s particularly good news for me because… well, if you know, you know, and, if you don’t know, you need to watch season five.”
Clarkson’s Farm was first released on Prime Video back in 2021, with four further seasons to date, each being relased released annually from 2023 to 2026.
It is expected that this new sixth series of the programme will come out next year, if the previous schedule is to be followed, with eight episodes expected once again.
