Witham Town announced that “our very own Tom Stagg” had entered the Love Island villa, sharing an image of the forward as a new arrival on the hit ITV dating show.
The 23-year-old has built a reputation across the non-league circuit and now looks set to gain a national profile in front of millions of viewers.
Stagg came through Colchester United’s academy before making his senior debut for the U’s, going on to enjoy spells with a number of clubs including Bury Town, Witham Town, Bowers & Pitsea, Leatherhead, Cheshunt, Weymouth, Grays Athletic, Wingate & Finchley, Cray Wanderers, Hashtag United and Colchester’s under-21 and under-23 sides.
The forward has often led the line as a centre-forward, featuring across the Isthmian and Southern League structures and becoming a familiar name to non-league supporters in Essex and beyond.
