Dundee United are delighted to confirm we have taken the option to secure Dario Naamo’s services on a permanent basis.

Our budding number 22 is now contracted to the Terrors until at least the summer of 2028.

The Finnish Under-21 international hit the ground running upon his arrival in the city of Discovery, taking just three minutes to register an assist on his debut against Arbroath.

He continued to impress in further pre-season battles with PEC Zwolle, St Johnstone and Oldham, before sustaining a short-term ankle knock which he is set to return from imminently.

PROACTIVE BUSINESS

Dundee United Manager Jim Goodwin, commented: “This move represents a forward-thinking and proactive piece of business from the club – the reason we worked hard to include an option to buy in the initial agreement between ourselves and St Pölten was because we wholeheartedly believe in Dario’s ability.

“He personifies the modern-day wingback – energetic, combative and technically accomplished, with a desire to impact the game at both ends of the park.”

“The deal represents our faith in both Dario’s potential to develop into a strong asset and the coaching staff to nurture his talents. I’m really looking forward to tracking his progression as a player and a person throughout the next three years and beyond.”
