A West Midlands Police spokesperson told BirminghamLive: “We’re currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Frankley Beeches Road, Northfield.
“We were called just after 4pm to the collision which is understood to involve at least two cars.
“Officers attended and found ambulance colleagues attending to a man and woman who both have potentially life-threatening injuries.
“Roads in the area, including Northfield Road and Bristol Road at the junction with Great Stone Street, have been closed as emergency crews continue their work.
“They are expected to remain shut for some time.”
