Warrington Wolves fullback Dufty set for stint on sidelines

Sam Burgess has made his call on Matt Dufty after dropping the full-back last week, with team news for Warrington Wolves v Catalans Dragons confirmed.

The Australian full-back did not feature against Wigan Warriors last Friday with head coach Burgess confirming that Dufty had been dropped as a result of an internal discipline issue.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game, Burgess explained: “It’s an internal discipline thing. Matt missed a session earlier in the week and it’s happened to other players throughout the year so we sit him down and he’ll miss a game.”

Burgess did jokingly add that the full-back had been “behaving himself” and that he’d be back for the game against Catalans Dragons, for which he was named in the 21-man squad.

Sam Burgess had made two changes to his 21-man squad with Connor Wrench and Adam Holroyd returning whilst young full-back Cai Taylor-Wray dropped out, suggesting Dufty could be back in the fray but that’s not the case.
