While they can rejoice that there was justice in the grooming storyline for Megan Walsh, the trial that led to her being sent down has left some Coronation Street fans with questions.
As those who follow the ITV soap now know, the groomer is set to spend years behind bars after a jury found her guilty following a rollercoaster trial that saw her victim, Will Driscoll, change his statement twice.
Megan arrived in Weatherfield as Will went missing after his dad, Ben Driscoll, surprised his partner, Eva Price, by moving to the cobbles to run the Rovers Return. The teenager told his family he didn’t want to leave Hull and his athletics training behind, with Megan his coach.

With the move already completed, it was suggested that Megan join the Driscolls in Weatherfield. She agreed and it wasn’t long before the truth was revealed to viewers.
It was confirmed that Will didn’t want to leave Hull because he was actually in a secret relationship with Megan as part of a shocking grooming plot, with the pair going on to sleep together just as he turned 16.
Months later, the truth was exposed when Sam Blakeman, who had sussed out what was going on and was being threatened by Megan into silence, ended up in hospital and eventually confessed what he knew to stepmother Leanne Battersby and her sister, Will’s stepmother Eva Price.

It took a while for justice to be served as Will backed up Megan’s false story that he had an out-of-control crush she tried to shut down. In the end though, after thinking he had been plotting an escape with Megan, Will finally told the police the truth, after an intervention by neighbour and local cab driver, Tim Metcalfe.
It was then, last week, that the drama in court played out, and after originally telling the court he lied about his relationship with Megan, Will went on to take the stand again, confirming his groomer’s devastating lies and eventually, the teacher, accused of grooming and sexually abusing her student, found out her fate.
She was found guilty on two charges, inciting a child into engaging in sexual activity, and while being in a position of trust, and it was later confirmed she had been sentenced to five years in prison. Not taking the news well, Megan broke down in tears and started lashing out, making it clear that she would appeal the decision as she branded Will a liar.

And while Corrie fans are relieved to know that Megan is facing the traditional justice route, some have questions following the trial. @dr_agni said: “Months of building up to this and all we get is a 5 minute trial? No questioning or cross-examination. What about the other poor boy who was groomed? What about Megan threatening Sam?”
@shiber5169 asked: “What about the other boys??? Will there be justice for them as well?” @a.s.h_x.o commented: “Very glad of the verdict however is it just me who was disappointed with the trial? I feel like it was really rushed! I was expecting a lot more from it, especially involving other boys she groomed to come out the woodwork unravelling all her lies! Is this really the last we’ve seen of her I wonder?” @mattcocks1989 added: “The other young boy that told Will he had been with her. I think it would have been good if he come forward as a whiteness, just so Will could realise even more she’s a predator and done it before.”
