The multiple title-winning boxer from Carlisle Villa Amateur Boxing Club has been signed by VIP Boxing.
The 21-year-old has won a number of top amateur titles.
And he will now look to further has career under the guidance of VIP, whose stable of boxers over the years has included the likes of double world champion Josh Warrington.
The Manchester-based promoters have worked with other English, British, Commonwealth, European and world champions.
Announcing Haughan’s signing, VIP Boxing said they were “buzzing” to have the Cumbrian on board.
“The 2024 Senior ABA champion is a hard-hitting southpaw middleweight who’s already making serious waves in the sport,” they said.
“Known as ‘the Carlisle Golovkin’, a nickname given by ‘The Rhino’ himself Dave Allen, Marc brings knockout power, relentless pressure and an exciting style that fans will love.”
Haughan, who hails from Upperby and now lives in Harraby, added to his string of top titles in June when he was victorious at the prestigious Haringey Box Cup.
Haughan is the latest talented Carlisle boxer to move into the pro scene.
World Under-19 champion John Joe Carrigan recently joined Frank Warren’s Queensberry stable. The Border City ABC star is due to make his professional debut at a show in Glasgow in October.
