Celtic begin their Premier Sports Cup campaign this weekend by hosting Falkirk at Celtic Park.

It’s a repeat of last year’s thrilling quarter-final where Celtic came from behind twice to beat Falkirk.

Brendan Rodgers will know that the Bhoys have a huge Champions League play-off tie against Kairat Almaty in a few days time and with plenty of prize money at stake, that could take precedence.

Defending the Premier Sports Cup is just as important though and we can expect to see some rotation.

So, with that, here’s how 67 Hail Hail think the Bhoys should line up.

Falkirk is the perfect chance for some players to get minutes on Friday and we can expect rotation in key areas.

The likes of Kieran Tierney and Cameron Carter-Vickers are unlikely to play as their fitness is managed.

Captain Callum McGregor could also be rested, although his importance in the middle of the park means he is likely to be called upon regardless.

Adam Idah is yet to get off the mark, and a goal would be a huge confidence booster to the forward too.

Celtic predicted XI vs Falkirk

Starting in goal will be Viljami Sinisalo for his first appearance of the season. The Finland international held down the fort well when Kasper Schmeichel was injured and will be handed the gloves this week.

Anthony Ralston, Dane Murray and Auston Trusty will start the game, allowing Hayato Inamura to slot in at left-back – a position he impressed in during pre-season.

New signing Jahmai Simpson-Pusey could be introduced in the second half.

As for the midfield trio, Luke McCowan and Arne Engels will be given the nod from the start, with McGregor in the middle.

It’s unlikely he will last the full match, and Paulo Bernardo will be introduced.

Options up front are more limited which means a duo of Hyunjun Yang on the left and James Forrest on the right will be complemented by Johnny Kenny in the number nine role.
