One resident told BirminghamLive: “I’m a local and I got back at around 6am. I saw police had locked off the whole road.
“I spoke to one of the officers and they said it had been here since around 12.30am.
“Obviously, it is a pretty intense situation if it has been that long.

“We’ve seen armed police, all types of detectives, unmarked cars, vans. Everything, so the public is wondering what’s going on but we haven’t really got a clue. Just gotta wait and see.”
He added: “From what I’ve been hearing, I believe it is some sort of stand-off. I did also heard something about firearms, so maybe, but I’m not 100 per cent sure.”
