Cozier-Duberry had a dream loan spell at the Toughsheet Stadium last term, becoming a fan favourite as Schumacher’s side secured promotion back to the Championship.

Supporters have been following his situation with a keen interest this summer. Some reports suggested that the 21-year-old could extend his stay at the Amex, while others claimed West Ham were interested in his services.

Johnny Kenny, Mason Burstow, Ibrahim Cissoko, Corey Blackett-Taylor, Marcus Forss and Rob Apter also spent time at the Toughsheet Stadium.

When asked if last season’s loan players are ‘off the radar’ now, Schumacher replied: “No-one’s off the radar. They’re all really good players and have done excellently for us last season.

“I spoke to Amario a couple of weeks ago and his plan is to go back into Brighton and start pre-season with them, so I hope he goes and does really well.

“I just said to him, play with the same energy and enthusiasm that he did with us every single day, and try to impress the manager. He impressed us from day one, and I’m sure if he does that… he’s infectious.

“I hope he gets an opportunity at Brighton, I’m sure he’ll play the pre-season games there. I don’t know exactly what their World Cup personnel are, who is and isn’t there, but let’s hope he gets an opportunity.

“All our loan players have done great for us last year, and I wouldn’t rule any of it out.”

Wanderers have made five signings so far this summer, with David Watson, Ben Davies, Akin Famewo, Luca Stephenson and Kyliane Dong coming through the door.

“We’ve got a good mix, a good blend,” the head coach added. “We’ve got some lads with some Championship experience, which again is so important, and we’ve brought in some lads with some real potential.

“Players who are obviously from this area and know what English football is about, and British football, and then we’ve brought a young foreign lad who looks really exciting, and one that we can’t wait to actually get working with.

“He’s only had a couple of days on the grass with us, so he hasn’t trained as of yet with the group. But pleased with it so far, obviously five in, and there’s still a lot more to do.”

But there is still more work to do in the market as Bolton aim to make sure they are ready to hit the ground running in the second tier.

“Logically where we’re at, if you look across our squad now, we’ve got a couple of left-backs, we’ve got good centre-back options, we’ve brought in Luca Stephenson, we’ve got Cyrus (Christie) at right-back options, we’ve got good numbers in midfield,” Schumacher continued.

“It’s probably the forward areas where we’re a little bit short. We’ve seen Kyliane coming in, who can play on either wing. He can play as a nine as well, but we’ve seen him playing in the wide areas.

“Centre-forwards and a couple more wide players are definitely the priority, but there will be other positions as well that we’ll strengthen because we need to go into the Championship with as strong a squad as possible.”
