Coronation Street fans have been quick to respond as DC Kit Green was replaced by a new detective after their arrival previously sparked some confusion among those following the long-running show.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, Kit has been working on the Theo Silverton murder investigation alongside DS Lisa Connor-Swain following the abuser’s death earlier this year.
What he doesn’t know – yet – is that it’s his girlfriend, Sarah Platt, who was responsible for the villain’s downfall, as he remained adamant that her former flame, Gary Windass, is responsible for the killing.

But, during Friday’s (July 10) edition of Corrie, viewers saw that Kit was disappointed to be removed from Theo’s murder investigation, with Lisa informing him that the decision came from their superintendent.
He was quick to wonder how Lisa would do the work on her own, but it was revealed that their colleague, now revealed as DC McLaughlin, would be working with her instead. “Are you joking?” Kit fumed. Handing over his new case, Lisa told him: “Have this instead. You’ll never believe what a man, a tow rope and a can-do attitude can achieve.”

It’s not the first time Corrie fans have seen Detective Constable McLaughlin, played by Michelle Tate. Back in January, she was the detective who questioned Debbie Webster after the hotel owner was involved in the devastating car crash, which claimed the life of Weatherfield vicar, Billy Mayhew.
But it’s fair to say that some Corrie fans are pleased to see Kit taken down a peg or two by Lisa. @Camzsbi said: “Finally, Lisa is back… Kit is now off the Theo case. Sorry, Not sorry #swarla #corrie.” @Cerys_Emily_x commented: “LISA STANDING HER GROUND TELLING KIT HE’S OFF THE CASE, ABSOLUTE CINEMA #swarla #corrie.”
@KatieJukesy echoed: “Don’t i just love it when she gets the upper hand. Telling Kit he’s off the case. Absolute Cinema #Corrie.” @alohaimarie added: “Lisa telling kit hes off the case was just chefs kiss!!! i enjoyed that so much and i know she did too!!”
