A teenage boy has been taken to hospital with head injuries after falling 15 metres (50ft) down an embankment in Plymouth woodland.
Fire and ambulance crews were called to Amados Drive on the edge of Plympton at 3.55pm today, Sunday, July 12.
The 13-year-old boy had fallen down what was described as a bank in a wooded area and ended up on a footpath.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “He had suffered head injuries and possibly back injuries.”
Fire crews were able to get the boy onto a stretcher and back up the bank to the road. He was then taken to Derriford Hospital by a land ambulance.
At about the same time the Devon Air Ambulance landed at Underwood Recreation Ground, in Plympton, but it is not known if this was in response to the boy’s fall.
