Johnny Fisher has ditched Matchroom Boxing and signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
The British heavyweight cult hero has been with promoter Eddie Hearn [Matchroom] since 2021 when he made his professional debut.

But the big ticket seller became the latest to receive a huge financial offer from White’s Zuffa Boxing, and demanded Hearn match said contractual terms.
The camps were in negotiations and Fisher demanded his loyalty was rewarded, but the Matchroom kingpin indicated he couldn’t match the monetary value provided by Saudi chief Turki Alalshikh.
And it has now been confirmed that Fisher has inked his deal with White’s promotion Zuffa, and will become part of their stable moving forward.
Fisher, alongside his father big John, have a huge following and are backed heavily by a big army of fans from Essex.

With the announcement comes his return date, another appearance at the Copper Box Arena on September 26 in a headline fight on Zuffa Boxing 11.
It will see the Essex native’s return to Sky Sports, with an opponent yet to be announced.

After sealing his big career move, Fisher said: “The most exciting chapter of my professional career begins.
“Thank you to Dana White, Nick Khan, and the Zuffa Boxing team for this opportunity.
“I’m really excited to be on the platform that is Sky Sports. That was the first thing that came my mind. That is the home of football, the home of all the sports in the UK and I want to be part of that on that massive platform.
“I want to take my career to the next level and I think this is the place to be.

“I can bring blood and guts, I can bring war and I can bring tear ups to your Saturday nights. There’s an appetite for it.
“Everyone loves heavyweight boxing and I go in there to seek and destroy – and there’s a big chance I could be sought and destroyed as well. That’s exciting for people to watch.
“I think I’ll be in a position to be challenging for some major titles. I want to go as far as I can in this sport.
“I know I’ve got the power. I’ve got the athleticism and I’m excited to showcase that to people on the biggest platform that there is.”
Fisher will be a big loss for Hearn given his selling power, having appeared on many domestic bills across the UK.
However, his career has yet to take off beyond domestic level, as he suffered a stoppage defeat to Dave Allen in their rematch in 2025.

It is unclear whether his objectives will be to fight for traditional titles, or whether to try and make a charge for the newly launched ‘Zuffa title’, a controversial launch in boxing.
Fisher could feasibly push on and challenge for a British heavyweight title in the coming fights, and his hope will be that this is an exciting new beginning.
