Coronation Street fans think something worrying is going on with Lisa Connor-Swain, but are divided over whether it involves her daughter, Betsy, as she faces her own turmoil this week.
There are worrying times on the horizon after it was confirmed last week that Lisa and her wife, Carla, will be left worried sick next week when their daughter, Betsy, is found collapsed on the kitchen floor of No.6 Coronation Street, before being rushed to the hospital as she fights for her life.
A promo for what’s ahead, shared on Corrie’s YouTube channel, has already revealed the moment an ambulance drives away from No.6 Coronation Street, and an anxious Carla arriving at the hospital to find Lisa at Betsy’s bedside.

But what has happened to Betsy? And why does Dylan find himself in the firing line as her condition worsens? Corrie has teased that all will be revealed, as while Lisa demands answers and accusations fly, Betsy tries to come to terms with her life-changing diagnosis.
As Corrie fans anticipate what’s ahead for Betsy, who was planning to leave Weatherfield for fashion college in London, some have been left concerned for Lisa.
Last week at the police station, DC Kit Green was disappointed to find out he was being removed from Theo Silverton’s murder investigation, with Lisa informing him that the decision came from their superintendent as they were putting more manpower into a drugs case.
But it was when he entered the office that Kit was seen asking Lisa if she was alright as she took some painkillers. While the scenes appeared to be insignificant, Corrie fans were left wondering if they were intentional.
So when Lisa was seen taking painkillers during Monday’s (July 13) visit to Weatherfield, the comments came flooding in as to whether there could be something more sinister on the cards for the beloved detective.

@eternitydropped said: “Okay Lisa taking paracetamol is DEFINITELY significant… This would be an INCREDIBLE storyline!” @HartwellVibes94 replied: “I agree she’s defo taking a lot of paracetamol lately. Wonder if she’s been doing that for longer than we realise. Think this could defo be significant later down the line.”
@thatsmypeachx commented: “Lisa taking pain killers two episodes in a row must be related to Betsy’s storyline or they’re setting up a story for Lisa around this topic. Either way I am nervous!! #Swarla #Corrie.” @midnightswarla wrote: “Oooh what’s going on Lisa #swarla.”
However, @TheConnorSwains shared: “The more painkillers you take, the more they become the cause of the headache (rebound). It could turn into an OTC painkiller addiction SL. But I think #Corrie is setting the episode up to make Carla (and us) think it’s Lisa who collapses, when it’ll actually be Betsy. #Swarla.”
@missmollybruton posted: “Yeah the paracetamol is definitely a red herring.” @terrilindsay also added: “Have we ever had parent and child suffer from the same hereditary illness in a soap? I don’t think this is a red herring because if Corrie were trying to get us to guess who was in hospital why would there be so much press and an official teaser. Kind of enjoying not having a scooby doo what’s going on though.”
