A 20-year-old woman from Sidlesham died following the incident at the junction of Poling Street and the A27 Arundel Road, near Arundel, at around 11.15pm on Wednesday (July 15).
The collision involved three vehicles and the young woman was a passenger in one of the cars.
Officers investigating the collision are keen to speak to Mohammed Rasauli as part of their enquiries.
Sussex Police have released an image of the 22-year-old.
Detective Inspector Kani Barawi said: “We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic collision.
“I am appealing directly to Mohammed to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We believe you may have information that could assist our investigation, and I would urge you to come forward and speak to officers.
“If anyone knows of Mohammed’s whereabouts, or has been in contact with him recently, please ask him to contact Sussex Police immediately.”
