Activision has announced its annual beta for the next Call of Duty title, this year being Modern Warfare 4, shall begin for those who pre-order on 21st August 2026. Five days of access will be provided, at which point the beta will go down for a few days and then return available to everyone from 28th August.
Here’s what those beta periods look like:
Early Access21st August — 25th AugustOpen Beta28th August — 1st September

It appears that the exact contents of the beta period will be detailed at a later date, because today’s blog post provides more of a broad description:
Get ready to drop into multiple Multiplayer maps and modes, choosing from a wide selection of brand-new Operators, including all the Vault Edition Operators for players who pre-order the Vault Edition, and unlocking as many as 19 different weapons before deploying into everything from small-scale 3v3 skirmishes to massive tactical battles featuring tanks and more. Test your mettle across new and returning modes, from Search & Destroy to the brand-new Kill Block, plus the Training Mobility Course.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 comes to PS5 (this is the first year without a PS4 version) on 23rd October 2026, giving you enough time to play its single player and online modes before GTA 6 arrives.
